Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ:AKAM) Looks Level Short Term

With few if any short-term catalysts, Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ:AKAM) appears to be poised for a level performance unless Christmas sales are higher than expected.

Wedbush said, "Akamai will host its annual Analyst Day on Thursday, December 9th in Boston, MA...While we are not expecting Akamai to update FY11 guidance, the strength in online holiday spending could prompt an upward revision to 4Q10 guidance...We do not expect any changes to the company’s long-term business model...VAS is estimated to account for 60% of revenue by year-end, and Akamai expects this to increase heading into FY11."

Wedbush reiterates an "Outperform" on Akamai Technologies, which closed Monday at $52.91, losing $0.05, or 0.09 percent. Wedbush has a price target of $56 on them.
