Amazon.com's (NASDAQ:AMZN) Kindle Sales Blowing Past Expectations

Kindle sales from Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) are exploding past analysts' estimates, as about 5 million units were expected to be sold, and they're on track to sale about 8 million units in 2010, a 60 percent increase over projections.

This is a huge increase over the 2.4 million units sold in 2009.

Amazon sells three versions of Kindle, with the highest being the DX version, selling for 379, and second on the works over 3G wireless networks and Wi-Fi, and last the least expensive version, which downloads only on Wi-Fi and sells for $139.

The online retailer made a huge push in marketing the Kindle this year, and it has obviously paid out great for them.

Amazon closed Tuesday at $184.75, up $1.46, or 0.80 percent.
