Amazon.com's (NASDAQ:AMZN) Kindle Top-Selling Product Ever on Site

Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) said that their latest Kindle e-reader, the third-generation Kindle offering of the company, has become the largest-selling product on their site in the history of the company.

The reason for sales exceeding expectations, appears to be consumers using it as their primary digital reading device, and not substituting other gadgets as a reader.

Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com CEO said, "We're seeing that many of the people who are buying Kindles also own an LCD tablet. Customers report using their LCD tablets for games, movies, and web browsing and their Kindles for reading sessions."

Concerning overall sales in the Christmas shopping season, Amazon said on November 29, their best day, over 13.7 million items were ordered on the site worldwide, a record performance for the company.
