Apple (Nasdaq:AAPL) Will Continue Mobile Dominance in 2011

Canaccord Genuity technology analyst Michael Walkley says he sees Apple (Nasdaq:AAPL) continuing to dominate the global market for mobile devices next year.

Here are his observations:

1) During the 3rd quarter of 2010, Apple had 47% of industry profits for mobile devices and tablets. The next nearest competitor was RIMM with 18%;

2) During the 4th quarter of 2010, Mr. Walkley forecast that AAPL will sell 6.3 million iPads, up from his earlier estimate of 5.0 million;

3) During 2010, Apple market share of tablets will be approximately 75%; and

4) In 2011, Apple market share of tables will be approximately 50%.

Apple closed Thursday at $318.15, up by $1.75, or 0.55 percent.
