Citigroup (NYSE:C), Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM) and American Express (NYSE:AXP) are all up today as the financial sector was the best performing among the stocks.
Much of this comes from the lowering of event risk, as employment has slightly improved helps people be able to service their debt, an ongoing concern in the sector.
Financials have been trading on this concern, and will continue to do so until there is a sustainable turnaround.
American Express was trading at $44.82, gaining $1.05, or 2.40 percent, as of 1:06 PM EST. JPMorgan was at $44.83, up $0.67, or 1.53 percent. Bank of America was trading at $14.46, up $0.22, or 1.54 percent. Citigroup was at $4.9550, up $0.0550, or 1.12 percent.
