Ford (NYSE:F) Expanding U.S. Operations in 2011

Asserting they're committed to manufacturing in America, Ford Motor (NYSE:F) recently announced they're going to hire another 7,000 workers to their plants over the next couple of years.

Mark Fields, Ford president of the Americas, noted, “Ford is committed to American manufacturing, and we are on a path to add more than 7,000 American workers over the next two years as we continue to grow our product lineup. Working with our partners, including the (United Auto Workers), Ford is finding competitive ways to engineer and build even more high-quality, fuel-efficient vehicles with technologies American consumers really want.”

These 7,000 positions will be in relationship to hourly workers.

Ford closed Friday at $18.65, dropping $0.03, or 0.16 percent.
