Ford Motor (NYSE:F) announced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit today that they're going to add about 7,000 more jobs to the company over the next two years.
Ramping up their hybrid vehicles, Ford said in 2011 they're going to hire 750 engineers and 4,000 factory workers, while next year they'll had another 2,500 workers, according to Ford’s president of the Americas, Mark Fields.
The engineers will be hired for the expertise in relationship to battery-operated vehicles.
Ford unveiled three new hybrids at the show today, including the C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid gasoline-electric wagon, and the Focus Electric car.
They estimate hybrid vehicles could account for as high as 25 percent of overall sales by 2020.
