Intel's (Nasdaq:INTC) Concessions Should Win it McAfee

After throwing some more concession bones to the EU regulatory dogs, Intel (Nasdaq:INTC) is now expected to have their $7.68 billion bid for McAfee approved there.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission had already given the go ahead for the deal in December.

what helped Intel turn the corner in Europe was their agreement to allow products from competitors to function without restrictions on Intel products, a major concern of the EU.

Concerns were Intel could embed part of McAfee's virus-fighting technology into their chips, giving them an unfair advantage over competitors.

This was in relationship to chips used in personal computers.

Intel was trading at $20.83, down $0.18, or 0.83 percent, as of 2:25 PM EST.
