After the western coast of Australia was hit be Cyclone Carlos, Apache Corp. (NYSE:APA) had to shut down its operations in Van Gogh and Stag oil fields, along with its gas processing hub at Varanus Island.
Now that Cyclone Carlos has left the region, Apache will be restarting operations, beginning with the Varanus Island gas hub, which will partially resume operations Thursday, according to how the weather cooperates, said spokesman David Parker.
The Van Gogh oil field's floating production facility, the Ningaloo Vision, will return to the field later in the week, but there is no estimate of when production will begin again, added Parker.
Production at Stag oil field should resume later in the day on Thursday.
Apache closed on Wednesday at $120.93, gaining $3.86, or 3.30 percent.
