Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is now offering its first iPad newspaper, called "The Daily," from Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWS).
The newspaper is now available exclusively from Apple's App Store.
Costs of the online newspaper will be 99 cents a week, or $39.99 for an annual subscription. That's far below the $3.99 a week charged for the Wall Street Journal on the iPad.
Murdoch said the lower price of The Daily reflects the low-cost advantage digital media offers.
Apple was trading at $344.19, dropping $0.84, or 0.24 percent, as of 1:39 PM EST. News Corp. was trading at $17.45, gaining $0.36, or 2.11 percent.
