Biosante Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:BPAX) Claims Female Sex Drug Tests Positive

On Saturday Biosante Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:BPAX) announced its test results for a female sex drug are positive, and are looking to develop the first drug to increase the sex drive of women going through menopause.

The positive results refer to the safety related to a test group of 2,869 women, of which 17 were reported to have problems with their heart and eight had breast cancer appear.

Food and Drug Administration rules should allow Biosante to go forward with further testing of the drug, with the relatively low risk rates being the parameters of that decision.

The drug, called LibiGel, delivers testosterone to the bloodstream through application of the gel on the skin.

Biosante is expected to use the low risk factor as a major part of their strategy when apply drug application with the FDA.

The drug company closed on Friday at $2.31, gaining $0.09, or 4.05 percent.
