General Electric (NYSE:GE) announced it has now closed its $3 billion acquisition of Dresser, the maker of wind turbines, which General Electric is heavily invested in.
Dresser acquired the turbine company from Riverstone Holdings LLC and First Reserve Corp.
Dresser will be integrated into the energy services and power and water businesses of General Electric.
In 2009, Dresser generated revenue of $2 billion, and earnings of $318 million. They employ about 6,300 people around the world.
General Electric closed Tuesday at $20.80, up $0.66, or 3.28 percent.
