Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) Invests $26 Million in Six Mobile Startups

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ:INTC) announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that they've invested $26 Million in six mobile technology startups.

The tech giant didn't disclose the specific amount they invested in each company, which included CloudMade Inc., InVisage Technologies Inc., Borqs Ltd., Kaltura Inc., SecureKey Technologies Inc., and VisionOSS Solutions.

CloudMade Inc. and InVisage Technologies Inc. are both based in Menlo Park. Borqs is China-based; Kaltura is in New York; SecureKey is located in Toronto; and VisionOSS in the U.K.

CloudMade offers software tools developers use to build location-enabled applications and services. VisionOSS Solutions works on communications and collaboration software. InVisage has developed QuantumFilm, which can replace silicon as the light capture material for high-fidelity, high-resolution images for digital cameras and camera phones. Borqs LTD focuses on the integration of Google's (Nasdaq:GOOG) Android software for mobile devices. Kaltura is an online video software company. SecureKey targets authentication of online purchases.

Intel was trading at $21.65, down $0.11, or 0.51 percent, as of 1:28 PM EST.
