Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Names Server Unit Head in Management Shakeup

With Steve Ballmer under pressure to generate more growth at Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), he began the process with the removal of Bob Muglia as head of the server and tools business of the company.

Microsoft announced today they're replacing him with Satya Nadella, who headed up engineering for Microsoft's online services business.

This seems to confirm, at least in this case, that Ballmer is looking to put more engineers in management roles in the company to get their competitive edge back.

Under Nadella's most recent role were the Internet portal MSN and Bing, their growing search engine.

Microsoft was trading at $28.13, down $0.15, or 0.54 percent, as of 12:30 PM EST.
