Military Being Forced to Eat Seafood from BP (NYSE:BP) Oil Spill?

The secretary of the Navy has ordered every commissary in the department of defense to start offering seafood in the Gulf of Mexico, in spite of the BP (NYSE:BP) oil spill.

While there's nothing wrong with offering food from the Gulf, assuming it is in fact completely free of any residue, but it conflicts with the other official line of how devastated the Gulf of Mexico was from the BP oil spill. You can't have it both ways.

The point is the Gulf is in fact much less damaged than originally believed, and lawyers and their communications to the media are what continue to make it appear much worse than it really was.

If not, then the military is forcing their soldiers to eat contaminated food. Which is it?

Studies have shown Gulf food to be good, so if the food is good, that has to mean the Gulf, overall, is also healthy. It can't be schizophrenic.

How could the food in the Gulf be safe to eat but the Gulf is contaminated? It of course makes no sense. The Gulf isn't near as bad as the media is making out, or the military is forcing its people to eat unhealthy food.

Great counter argument guys. If it is in fact true that the Navy is serving the seafood, then the argument is valid. No one can argue that.
Oh, I'm sorry, I guess you can counter argument by calling the writer an idiot. That also made Google Finance.

The Gulf as a whole wasn't affected. Just the area near the spill, which just so happened to be near the southern coast of the States.

It did cause damage, in a specific place. If the Navy gets their fish from somewhere else then no problem.

You can have it both ways if you add the specificity of what transpired in the Gulf.
