Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) announced today it has named Mukesh Ambani, an Indian national, to its board, the first non-American to be appointed in the history of the company.
With the goal of expanding its global operations, this is another step towards creating good will and strengthening relationships outside the U.S. to achieve that goal.
Earlier this month at their investor day, Bank of America said they were going to move their primary focus from domestic banking to developing global markets.
Ambani is CEO of India-based petrochemical company Reliance Industries.
Bank of America was trading at $13.76, down $0.20, or 1.43 percent, as of 1:45 PM EDT.
