Former Yahoo (YHOO) News Head Lands Disney (DIS) Gig

Mark L. Walker, the former chief of Yahoo Inc.'s (NASDAQ:YHOO) News and Information properties, has signed on with Disney (NYSE:DIS) as senior vice president of Disney.com.

Disney said of Walker he "personalized the Yahoo News experience for consumers through seamless front page, social and local news content integration. He also developed, launched and sold innovative video news programs, including many of the most streamed video series on the Internet."

Walker will not be only over Disney.com, but all product development, marketing, programming and operations for all Disney-branded websites as well.

Disney closed Thursday at $40.76, gaining $0.16, or 0.39 percent.
