Nokia's (NOK) Goal is 200 Million Windows (MSFT) Phones Sales

Nokia (NYSE:NOK) said in a filing with the SEC on Friday that its goal is to move about 200 million of its current symbian users to Windows Phones (NASDAQ:MSFT).

"We expect 2011 and 2012 to be transition years, as we transition to Windows Phone as our primary smartphone platform and we invest in building a new ecosystem with Microsoft," Nokia said in the filing.

They means it'll probably be 2013 before the transition is completed.

In the interim, there will be a number of phones released, with late 2011 or early 2012 the target period of time.

During that time Nokia said sales of Symbian phones should be around 150 million.

Nokia closed Friday at $8.49, up $0.09, or 1.07 percent. Microsoft closed at $25.68, up $0.27, or 1.06 percent.
