Google (GOOG) Wastes $100 Million on Wind Farm

In what its billion as “the largest wind farm in the world,” Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) has wasted $100 million on the bird- and bat-killing machines.

Hilariously, the schizophrenic so-called green energy, alternative energy backers are outraged when a relatively few wildlife are killed by oil (with accompanying photos of slicked-up birds), but the ripped apart remains of bats and birds from the fowl-killing wind turbines are now called by some proponents as casualties of the alternative energy "revolution."

Another alleged green energy company and bird/bat killer, General Electric (NYSE:GE), has said in the past they had been awarded a $1.4 billion contract to build 338 turbines for the Shepherds Flat facility, which is where Google invested in, located near Arlington, Oregon.

This is solely a business move, as Google is investing in the wind farm in order to sell energy Southern California Edison. The media will of course spin this as something positive, when if fact it is as harmful to wildlife, and more so, than the entirety of the oil sector.

At a time when Google is under fire for spending too much, this bizarre waste of money hopefully isn't a precursor to the second reign of CEO Larry Page, who is known for his extravagant and odd obsessions with dubious projects.

Google closed Monday at $526.84, falling $3.86, or 0.73 percent.
