Netflix (NFLX) Lands "Mad Men" (LGF) Streaming Deal

Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (NYSE:LGF) have reached an agreement for Netflix to stream episodes of all seven seasons of "Mad Men."

People familiar with the deal say terms of the agreement are from $75 million to $100 million for the entire series.

In search for differentiation in content delivery which is quickly moving toward digital, Netflix has been scrambling to make content deals with major media companies, while also starting to dabble in its buying exclusive, original content.

Mad Men will become available to Netflix users in the middle of July, with the first four seasons ready to be streamed. Once the fifth season is doen airing on AMC in 2012, those episodes will be made available to stream on Netflix, and on through the seventh and final season.

Netflix closed Tuesday at $244.23, falling $0.49, or 0.20 percent.
