Saying talks with Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) are proceeding on schedule, Nokia (NYSE:NOK) sees 2012 being solid year for selling the devices built on the new Windows Phone 7 platform.
Kai Oistamo, head of corporate development at Nokia said, "Negotiations have progressed very well. They will be concluded well on schedule."
On February 11 the two companies signed a non-binding agreement for Nokia to use Windows Phone 7 as its primary smartphone platform while they work out the details.
Since then Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said it would be a couple of months before the deal would be finalized.
Nokia was trading at $8.68, gaining $0.13, or 1.52 percent as of 2:45 PM EDT.
