Silver Wheaton (SLW) (HL) (SVM) (PAAS) (SSRI) (CDE) (AG) Close Down

Shares of Silver Wheaton (NYSE:SLW), Hecla Mining (NYSE:HL), Silvercorp Metals Inc. (NYSE:SVM), Endeavour Silver (AMEX: EXK), Pan American Silver (NASDAQ:PAAS), Silver Standard Resources (NASDAQ:SSRI), Coeur d'Alene Mines (NYSE:CDE) and First Majestic (NYSE:AG) closed down as uncertainty concerning the direction the EU will take to address the crisis continues.

March contracts for silver dropped $1.09 to closed at $31.54 an ounce.

Gold for February delivery ended the day at $31.40, falling 1.8 percent, to close at $1,713.40 an ounce.

Silvercorp closed at $7.07, down $0.27, or 3.68 percent. First Majestic ended the day at $15.73, falling $0.83, or 5.01 percent. Coeur d'Alene Mines fell to $28.34, losing $0.77, or 2.65 percent. Silver Standard Resources ended the day even, at $14.36. Pan American Silver closed slightly down at $24.44, falling 0.03, or 0.12 percent. Silvercorp Metals Inc. closed at $7.07, dropping $0.27, or 3.68 percent. Hecla fell to $6.36, declining $0.21, or 3.20 percent. Silver Wheaton ended the day at $32.88, down $0.58, or 1.73 percent.
