Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ:AKAM) Positioned for Solid Sales

After taking part in Akamai Technologies' (NASDAQ:AKAM) annual analyst day, FBR Capital came away impressed with the potential of the company going forward.

FBR said, "Yesterday, we attended AKAM’s annual analyst day. Our key takeaways were: (1) Akamai’s sales strategy of expanding into new verticals and geographies and cross-selling/up-selling customers has legs; (2) the company’s broad and growing suite of value-added services (VAS) should help Akamai capitalize on a number of internet tailwinds; (3) mobile delivery and monetization remain a big opportunity; and (4) the company’s distributed architecture remains a key differentiator. Akamai has benefited, and should continue to benefit, from strong tailwinds that include (1) increased reliance on the “cloud,” (2) the need for online
security, (3) mobile adoption, (4) online video growth, and (5) data/analytics."

FBR Capital maintains a "Market Perform" rating on Akamai Technologies, which closed Friday at $51.33, down $1.17, or 2.23 percent. They increased their price target on them from $46 to $48.
