Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone in Asia Could Drive 8 Million More Unit Sales

With Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone being a huge hit in Asia, expectations are it could drive 8 million or more in unit sales in 2011.

In what will be scary to competitors, it seems iPhones are taking hold in Asia as they already have in the U.S. market.

Yesterday China Mobile (NYSE:CHL) announced they were working with Apple on a deal to offer the iPhone to their network of 584 million subscribers. The potential there is mind-boggling.

Other carriers which should offer the iPhone soon are China Telecom (NYSE:CHA), Japan’s KDDI, and South Korea’s LG Telecom.

Apple was trading at $344.03, up $0.18, or 0.05 percent, as of 1:13 PM EST.
