Netflix (Nasdaq:NFLX), Qualcomm (Nasdaq:QCOM) Push Tech Up

Strong earnings results from Netflix (Nasdaq:NFLX) and Qualcomm (Nasdaq:QCOM) have the tech sector rocking today, although others in tech like Motorola Mobility Holdings (NYSE:MMI), Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and Lam Research Corp. (Nasdaq:LRCX) plunged on weak guidance.

Both Netflix and Qualcomm reported blowout quarters, which wasn't unexpected, but guidance seems to be the major story at this time, and both gave strong outlooks, helping them to outperform.

Another big tech mover on the positive side today is Teradyne Inc. (NYSE:TER), which was up over 11 percent at about 1:00 PM EST.

Teradyne was trading at $16.25, up $1.62, or 11.07 percent, as of 12:57 PM EST. Netflix was trading at $210.60, gaining $27.57, or 15.06 percent. Qualcomm was at $54.96, gaining $3.10, or 5.98 percent.
