Coleman Cable's (NASDAQ:CCIX) Bid for Technology Research (Nasdaq:TRCI) May Go Through This Time

After several tries, it appear Coleman Cable (NASDAQ:CCIX) may get a chance to finally acquire Technology Research (Nasdaq:TRCI), after being rebuffed a number of times.

FBR says, "Yesterday afternoon, Coleman Cable announced that it has made a offer to acquire Technology Research Corporation (Nasdaq: TRCI)(Not rated) for $5.50 per share...The company had tried to engage TRCI in a transaction several times before, only resulting in TRCI putting a Poison Pill in place to block the transaction. However, yesterday, TRC notified CCIX that its Board is now considering the bid and expects to respond to the offer by this Friday, January 21, 2011...Target in line with CCIX's acquisition strategy...Valuation remains attractive - CCIX currently trades at 5.1x estimated 2011 EV/EBITDA, which is a discount to the peer group average of approximately 7x."

FBR Capital reiterates an "Outperform" rating on Coleman Cable (CCIX), which closed Wednesday at $6.29, dropping $0.36, or 5.41 percent.
