The recent luster on Ford (NYSE:F) has began to fade, as they disappointed in their earnings report, and have consistently been in the headlines over recalls, with the latest being a big one, the recall of 363,000 F-150 trucks.
The F-150 pickup trucks being recalled are in North America, and have a potential problem with door handles not functioning as they should.
Included in the recall are trucks produced from January 2008 to November 2009 for model years 2009 and 2010.
If there ever was a crash, "the door handle spring can fail, causing the door latch to open," according to a filing by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Approximately 280,946 trucks will be recalled in the United States; 68,000 in Canada; and 14,000 in Mexico, said the company.
Ford was trading at $15.66, gaining $0.27, or 1.72 percent, as of 12:38 PM EST.
