Sprint (S) Launches First Online Directory for Wireless Business Listings with WhitePages

Sprint (NYSE:S) announced today it has entered into a deal with Whitepages to provide the first directory for businesses to list their wireless phone numbers online. At this time Sprint is the only telecommunications provider to offer the service. WhitePages is a top 50 website with over 20 million unique visitors a month.

“Until now, businesses of all types – especially small ones – were limited to listing only local (landline) phone numbers in thick phone directories that printed annually. What businesses want is a place to list, customize and regularly update their business information – including wireless numbers. The old directories aren’t an option in today’s business environment, especially for small businesses that use only wireless phones,” said Judy Train, Sprint vice president – Small Business and Alternate Channels, in a press release.

Jason Milstead, director of Business Search at WhitePages, added, “The ability to list wireless numbers has long been requested by small business owners – from florists to limo drivers – and many others who solely use a mobile phone. Sprint business customers can now safely publicize their wireless contact information on one of the Web’s most trusted and visited sites, providing the perfect solution for business owners as they look to attract and retain customers.”
