Tenet (NYSE:THC) Looking for More from Community Health (NYSE:CYH)
With the strong probability Community Health Systems Inc. (NYSE:CYH) up their bid for Tenet Healthcare Corp. (NYSE:THC) if they they want to close the deal, shares are trading down today, as are shares of Tenet.
Shares in both companies soared on Friday on the news of the potential takeover, and a pullback isn't surprising, as expectations for most deals are the first bid won't be the highest or the last.
Analysts have recommended acquiring more shares of Tenet because of what is expected to be an inevitable higher offer. It's a matter of how high the next offer will be, not if there will be an offer, in most of those watching the situation unfold.
Community offered a bid for the company of $7.3 billion, which placed a price on Tenet of $6 a share.
It is thought that Community will make an additional bid or a competitor will step in to snap up the company. Either way, shareholders will win, depending on what level they get into the stock.

Tenet (NYSE:THC) Shares Skyrocket On 50 Percent on Community Health (NYSE:CYH) Bid
Shares of Tenet Healthcare Corp. (NYSE:THC) have pushed up over 50 percent on the news Community Health System Inc. (NYSE:CYH) is pursuing a takeover of the hospital chain.
Tenet had turned down a previous offer of $3 billion in stock and cash, saying it was too low.
Other concerns were whether or not Community Health could successfully make the transition from managing a chain of small hospitals to larger ones like the approximate 50 hospitals Tenet operates.
The original offer was for $6 a share, with five of that offered in cash and $1 in stock. After the assumption of existing debt, the deal would be worth close to $7.3 billion.
