AT&T (NYSE:T) Snubs Apple (Nasdaq:AAPL) at Consumer Electronics Show

AT&T (NYSE:T) focused on its strategy for its 4G network, and talked of a number of devices that would run on it, but left out their current partner Apple (Nasdaq:AAPL) in the conversation.

This obviously had to be because they didn't want to remind customers that Apple wouldn't be soley available on their network anymore, as Verizon (NYSE:VZ) is expected to have an iPhone launch sometime in 2011.

The fact that the Apple iPhone was among the top-selling devices on the AT&T network over the last several years isn't something the company wants to keep in the minds of people as the head into 2011, with uncertainty going forward as to how that will play out.

Consequently, AT&T has expanding its product lineup, as they said they're going to launch a dozen new devices which will be using Google's (Nasdaq:GOOG) Android operating system. They're also going to add Blackberry and Windows phone products to their lineup as well.

One major and significant announcement at CES by AT&T was they will be offering the first dual-core smartphone on the market, along with numerous other devices.

AT&T was trading at $29.98, up $0.10, or 0.33 percent, as of 2:08 PM EST.
